It, part 2

by Idiosyncratic   Jul 16, 2005

"I love you" it says
Curling its fingers
Around my throat
Until no breath lingers

"Don't leave" it says
Sharpening its knife
Gazing at the wonder
Of the ending of my life

"I missed you" it says
When it loosens its grip
I fall to the floor
A second I should have skipped

"Do you love me?" it asks
With all-knowing grace
And smiles when it reads
The answer on my face

"I know you do" it states
And I must agree
For it holds my freedom
My life, the key

"Good bye" it replies
To no voice at all
And steps away
Waiting for my next call
