Daddys Little Angel

**I dedicate this poem to my father, and everyone else who's lost someone close to them because of cancer....it can be beaten**

Some people think that its so hard.
To loose someone you love.
Having to move on alone,
While they watch from above.

There was a little girl,
Who lost her father dear.
She cries a thousand tears for him,
Wishing he was near.
He won't be there to see her graduate,
Or walk her down the aisle.
He won't get to be there,
To see his grandchild's smile.
But as she gazes up at the stars,
She knows shes not alone.
Her daddy will always be there,
Just as she'd always known.

Her daddy never fought
Any battles in the war.
He didn't rescue others.
But in her eyes, he was a hero.
He fought a different battle,
The enemy within.
His battle raged on four years,
In the end the cancer would win.
She smiles as she remembers,
All that her father did.
To keep a smile on her face,
Creating memories she wont erase.
In her mind, she hears his voice.
So loving, and so sweet.
I'll always be there for you,
I love you with all my heart.
No matter how far away it seems I am,
We'll never be apart

In her heart, he lives forever,
He never went away.
Though there's part of her that misses him,
Each and every day.
She knows that she's his angel,
Now hes her angel too.
She lets the tears fall from her eyes,
Her heart still asking why.
In her mind, she wonders
The good in goodbye.
But she's proud of her daddy,
Because she knows he tried.
Soon she'll come to realize,
Lost loved ones never leave.
And if you've lost someone close to you,
Take a moment to realize,
They're never going to leave you
They're still right by your side.

Though there will always be a pain,
Deep inside her heart.
She knows he'd never leave her,
He'd been with her from the start.
He's still with her mommy,
Who he loved so much.
And with her other sisters,
Who still feel his loving touch.
She still talks to her father,
She tells him all she knows,
Her secrets, and the fears she's never shown.
She tells him of her day,
And how much she misses him
Since he went away.
