The Story

by Thomas Key   Jul 17, 2005

I'm here to tell you a story,
of two people
who fell in love,
two lovers in this world,
two hearts meeting,

He accidentally dialed the wrong number,
and a woman picked up,
she smiled and laughed,
and a conversation was struck up,

they were soon holding hands,
walking down to the mall,
his hand in hers,
their lives were holding to the call.

exchanging vows after a few months,
they looked into each other's eyes,
and they saw why
they are going to spend
a whole life time together.

Its been three years,
their vows still stand,
their love still strong,
they have two kids,
and a nice big house,
they live together,
hugging and kissing,
and saying " I love you " at every chance.

Many years later,
the kids are grown up
they have moved out,
now its the two of them,
still holding hands,
his hand in hers.

As he lay on his deathbed,
he smiled and a tear runs down his face
he looks into his wife's eyes,
and he says with a sparkle in his eyes,
"you've been the best wife,
the one who's been by my side,
for years and years. I love you."

She looked at him,
and she smiled,
she began to cry
as she heard what he had to say.
"you've been the best man,
any woman could want,
and I'm happy to be here with you,
still loving you,
still holding true.
I love you too."

He closed his eyes,
and was gone within minutes,
still holding hands,
she layed her head on him,
and she began to cry,
it felt as if her heart had broke.
But then a ray of light shone down,
and she stopped crying.

Her husband was in the light,
his hand out,
asking her to come with him.
She gladly took his hand,
and they disappeared in the ray,
they never found out how she died,
never to this day,
but she died with a smile on her face,
and her hand in his.
Together,
forever.
