What Just Happened?

I’m ten.

What just happened?

I stand there, shoeless, brainless, having no idea what just happened.

My Mom lies in the middle of the road,
An ocean of blood streaming from her head,
having no idea what just happened.

The ambulance comes....

I now know what happened.
