Poisoned Soul

by Ren   Jul 19, 2005

You first entered my heart,
And decided to stay.
What was I supposed to say?
We just wanted to play.
But you poisoned my blood...
My every breath...
That I would hold forever...
Just to be with you.
You were my soul,
My ever breaking lips,
That touched against yours,
That made my heart do flips.
You made my veins so tight,
How could it be so bad,
To reunite and be together,
I thought you would be glad.
I was such a sheep,
A crushing one,
You were my love,
And you were the only one... I could hang on to.
But now,
Forget all of the above,
You broke my heart,
And I will never again love.

What a sad poem Ren. Yes. Love can crush one when it's not returned in equal measure and then of course will die. The good news is that you will love again, and this 'love' in your past life, will become just another memory.
A well written piece which I enjoyed reading.

    Ren,
A sad poem here about the terrors of having your heart broken by someone you love and when that happens, you really do feel like you will never love again, if only to protect yourself.
My only suggestion would be "And I will never love again" at the end there - personally I feel it would flow better, but it's completely up to you, obviously. Either way, a great piece,
    Ben
