What Reading Charles D.'s Literature Does to Your Writing

by Leah20   Jul 19, 2005

Charles D.'s drives me crazy
His sentences are far too long
And his meanings are too hazy
And his writing style too prolonged

I'm forced to read his literature though
Because it was considered brilliant at the time
So modern and magnificent
And so incredibly sublime

But to me it's dull and drab
Entire paragraphs summed up in a word
"He was the husband of my mother" just to say "My Dad"
And sentences shorter than twenty words are even further than unheard

So if you are ever forced
By an English teacher or alike
Just let her run her course
Just don't read the book in spite

Of all that I have said

(I know it’s bad writing but I had to get it out of my system)
