Yesterday

Matches left burning
With paper all around
Symbolizing what we had
And what we’ve found

The writing speaks for itself
The pictures say a thousand words
But the emotions I feel now...
Well, paper will be left unheard

Tears fall gently to the ground
As I burn away all the memories
The ones I held onto for so long
The illusions that I couldn’t see

The smile I once portrayed
Is now ashes with the rest
I played pretend before
And I was always the best

But it is time to move on with life
I can’t keep living in my lies
Creating a life that is never there
I must let go and do my goodbyes

Each picture represents a deeper hurt
Each word only shows my fears
Letting the match do its art
Takes a burden that’s been there for years

Nothing lasts forever, I know this now
I cannot dwell on the past
And still move towards the future
So goodbye yesterday, you went too fast

*wow... this one was written from the heart, hope you all liked it*

Wow, I definitely loved this one. You did a great job on the imagery. I liked the whole layout. I feel like this so much right now. These were my favorite lines:

"Tears fall gently to the ground
As I burn away all the memories
The ones I held onto for so long
The illusions that I couldn’t see"

Keep up the great work. You have great talent. Keep your head up and good luck with your friend. Peace. 5/5
