The Face with no identity

by LouAnn   Jul 19, 2005

I looked in the mirror,
And what did I see?
A face so strange,
That couldn’t be me?

I looked in the eyes,
And what did I see?
A soul so black,
How can it be?

I looked at the smile,
And what did I see?
The lips so blue,
How could it be me?

I looked at the tears,
And what did I see?
Rivers of red,
How can this be?

I looked at the skin,
And what did I see?
A pallor of death,
What’s happened to me?

I look once again,
And what do I see?
A silent scream at night,
Where can I be.

Take one look at me,
And what do you see?
A once forgotten face,
With no identity…
