I guess that this is over now,
I guess this is the falling out;
I know it will not be long before you are gone,
it seems you won't be here at dawn;

I know you will never wear the Army greens,
because you will go off into the Marines;
you know I will always be proud of you,
for everything you ever do;

As you pack to go away,
I know you won't be here the next day;
I will try to act happy and not sad,
but inside I will be feeling nothing but bad;

I will always have support for you and your decsions,
I knew it would eventually happen but I kept ignoring all the visions;
you are a true soldier and you'll come out better than before,
you are a true soldier whom is very very mature;

When you leave and go into combat zone,
I wonder if you'll come back home;
even though you call me "duck",
