Losing you

Good friends is how we started,
Then one day we parted.
You were always there for me,
But then you just let me be.

You always cheered me up,
Even when times got really rough.
I wish I could have you back,
But I guess that's just one thing I lack.

I wish things were the way they used to be,
How it was with you and me.
I miss you so much,
I guess things just have to be as such.

In the hallway you always smile,
But it just lasts for a little while.
Our memories always fill my mind,
They will always be one of a kind.

Over and over again I try,
But you always seem to just pass by.
I guess this is goodbye.
