I was 7
Becky was 8
Roxanne was 9
we had become step sisters
more like friends
that lived together
it was a slumber party every night
me and Roxanne would stay up till 12
telling each other stories
and singing made up songs
i remember the time we made a song that was called green eyed girl with bodacious thighs
and i remember one night
Roxanne and i, took a picture of a used tissue and Becky's foot
and Becky and me were always together
in basketball soccer and swimming
and we all did everything together
i don't know a day we didn't spend together
but now they are gone
living in Maine
while I'm still here in New Hampshire
things will never be the same
