War

by Bryan Berry   Jul 20, 2005

Here you are
In the corner
Hiding from
The worldly horror

You cower now
And then you cry
Praying now
As bullets fly

But you can fight the war
No matter what it's for
You can never back down
Or you may drown
In the struggle of
A world without love

And now it's over
Last man standing
You never thought
You might be winning

So you wonder
What it's for
This bloodshed
Hearts flew out the door

Killing without reason
In every season
Endless deadly war
With a world grand tour
And the world ends
Without proper amends

Awesome! This one hit home with me! Love the message and the wording was perfect! Keep writing!

Inspirational write, espacially because it shows the people hiding and looking away from causeless killing in a totally different light. I like the hopeless atmosphere you build up and the last stanza is my fave, strongly described and worth being the end of your poem.

    Keep it up :-)
    Bye, Sabine
