Promise that I made

Tears running down
down the face of a little girl
who was so sure she could make it
and so destined for it all
but one night it fell
all apart when the hospital called
her daddy had died
he was gone and forever
all that kept her steady
she felt the pain running threw
her head she once had a promise
to her daddy it stood
and she wouldn't let go
not even a bit
because that she new
one day
it will all come back to her
the way he loved and felt for her
just as daddy's should
her mom got married soon after
and she fell apart she couldn't
take
the pain in her vain anymore
so she locked herself
in her room
and laid there to think
as she once more remembered the
promise she had made
