Beyond my hopes and dreams
Forget the troubled imaginings
When I’m tied in expectant ropes

Trust in flimsy beliefs to keep you afloat
Anticipate the move to end your game
Wish upon each comet quick
It can never be the same

Those shards lie collecting dust
The dreams are crushed beneath me
The living thoughts of the past still linger
But life never seems to hear me
