Last Night

I held onto you last night
You got me through the nightmare
Yet when I opened my eyes
I saw that you weren't there.

I cried endlessly last night
Whilst you wiped away each tear
You told me to hang on a bit longer
But you were nowhere even near

I held a gun to my head last night
But you lowered it to ground
You laid a kiss on my temple instead,
But you were nowhere to be found

I tried to slit my wrists last night
Only to find that cut you too.
Together we bled, hand in hand
Your prayers got me through

I tried my best to do something right
Late in the hours last night
Lo and Behold you smiled at me
As I put my pen down to write.

And last night I thought to myself
I'll never make it through,
But I came to realize soon enough
That I can if I have you.

If I hold you close to my heart
I know no harm is done.
Because you led me through last night
You gave me hope when I had none.

I thank God for you everyday
Oh, I'm so weak on the inside.
I can tell you this once,
And you'll rush to be at my side.

You kiss me and tell me things
That I have never known
I tell you 3 words that I'll never regret
