Just the Way you Left it

by Jemma   Jul 21, 2005

The curtains are drawn
Just the way you left them
Just enough light to see
The misery of the room
Just the way you left it
I know it was you who came
And stole away in the darkness
I know it was you who
Slipped in the shadows
Slithering like a snake, unseen
My heart is just the way you left it
Longing for the touch of the forbidden
Wanting to fill with what makes it sick
You’re the constant upset
The upheaval of my whole world
And you walked out of my door
Arms full with treasures
Not all the valuables gold
You kept your favourite close
Tucked in some secret corner
You leapt into the night
Taking my life with you
