A LOVE I THOUGHT WOULD LAST

by LittleMissReality   Nov 6, 2003

True love is a gift,
That all of us wishes we had,
You say you’re in love with a guy,
But then you don’t get him and you start to cry.

We tell them we love them,
They just smile & say I love you too.
We say we’ll last forever too.

Then the day comes when they say goodbye
We lay our head down & start to cry,
We say we love you please don’t say bye.

We try our best to win them back.
Until they say I love you but we aren’t working out.
You walk around all sad.

You tell them you love them & you’ll get them back.
They say I love you too.
You try & try,
But you never get them back.

You can’t look them in the eye,
But you love them so much you just want to cry.
You want them back.
But you can’t have them.

They’ve moved on,
But you still love them to death.
You try your best but they don’t love you.
True love is a gift not all of us have.
