This is my story

by keri   Jul 22, 2005

I can still hear them,
I can still feel their ice cold touch.
They call out to me.
They call out from within the darkness.
The darkness that slowly consumes them.
And soon it will consume me.
My soul is numb, my spirit sleeping.
I've lost sight of the light.
The light that once filled me.
The light I was consumed in.
Its just a dream now.
A distant dream, that's all it is.
It seems as though it never existed.
But though I dwell in that darkness,
I still remember the warmth,
The warmth the light gave to me.
The light that is so distant now.
And as I drown in the darkness,
Ill whisper to it, Ill whisper to the light.
So that it may return,
So that it may once again fill me with joy,
fill me with joy and extinguish the darkness,
Extinguish so that I may once again feel the warmth,
The warmth I thought was gone forever.
But the darkness is strong.
And they call for me.
The shadows call for me.
They're beckoning to me.
Offering a bitter death.
They're tormenting me.
Which is why I need the warmth.
The warmth of the light.
The warmth of the light at the end of the tunnel!
