Society is built on a strong foundation of lies,
We’re influenced to believe what is “right” in their eyes,
Brainwashed to buy what is considered to be “in”,
They make it sound like it’s bad to have your own opinion,
Since when was it wrong to stand up for what you believe?
Why should we believe the lies that they weave?
Why should people be labeled for being different or unique?
Why should they be teased for not having a perfect physique?
Nobody’s the same; we all like different things,
Some people like necklaces, some like rings,
Others may like both, but what difference does it make?
We’re all the same on the inside, that’s the media’s mistake,
They have changed the way that people think,
“Oh my god, orange is so the new pink,”
So many teenagers try so hard to fit in with the crowd,
But because they’re not the same, they don’t seem to be allowed,
The media just doesn’t seem to understand,
there’s nothing wrong with not wearing the “big brands”,
People’s style and personality is what makes them “cool”,
Being an individual doesn’t make you a fool,
You should not pay people out for being who they want to be,
They have feelings too, just like you and me.
