A Poem For Mama

by Cathy Allerite   Jul 22, 2005

I used to be that little girl

Who run around the streets

I used to be that little child

Who should be tucked in bed to sleep.

I used to learn the songs of love

But I've forgotten all the words

For life has taken me so far

And away from where I've been.

But no special moments were forgotten,

Coz when I look back I see a smile.

A smile from my inconsistent life,

That has brought another gainful start.

It's nice to reminisce sometimes

All those crazy things and lessons learned.

Because with every memory that I see

I see you who made me what I am today.
