Away from my home,
I was lost in a world
Where night is never known,
Where sun is as cold
As the moon and the stars,
When no man ever thought
If the sky is really blue,
If this life is really true.
A place where
I saw myself -
Running away from myself -
To reach myself.
The past dimming into future
While the present watched over.
The run strains my legs
But the fatigue never let me stop.
I knew I had to pull over
To look back and to breathe
To know what I'm in for
What I should run for
What I should want, desire and dream of.
Even as I knew, I stopped and turned.
A thousand new colours of life were learned.
Now I knew that
Night was night
And day was light
And love should be loved
And life should be lived.
Now I can stop at my will
And turn when I can
To know what I never knew,
To do what I could never do,
To hold what I could never reach,
To learn what I could never teach,
To see what I could never see
And to be what I could never be!
