A girl's last breath

I looked in to the eyes
The eyes that once were mine
Belonged to me
Longed for me
But not anymore

I felt the arms wrapped round me
The strong warm touch of you again
Your strong grip
Holding me
Rocking me still

I felt the lips caress mine
As they whispered there last goodbye
I shuddered
They were hot
Full of life unlike mine now

My eyesight was fading
I was rising out of that body
I looked at you
Rocking the lifeless girl
Saying silent prayers

I glanced at your face and saw the tear
Drop from your face on to hers
On to mine
That face i hated so

I turned on my heel
Floating silent and steady
I looked back
Tasted the salt in my mouth
Felt the blood on my wrists
Then walked away
