You were my first love,
my true love
i thought we'd be together forever,
but was time dragged on,
we fell apart
the memories that we shared still linger with me today
i never got rid of them
they're special to me
in every which way
I'm married to someone now
as you are too
we're both happy,
both have kids
and yet again,
we remain friends
still go get a coffee together
sit and talk
like old school yard friends
you told me
that even though your married,
you still love me
and care about me
and i the same for you
our love is still strong
for one another
but yet we remain faithful to the person we made our vows to
and we always will
now i stand over your grave
and weep
god though it was your time
so he took you from the world
i didn't think it was,
but i cant control what god does
i sit at home and look over all the pictures that we took over the years
all the memories.
i sit and cry, wishing time would stop, but i know that it wont
and as time passes me by,
i still remember that sweet face of yours that used to always
make me laugh
and i never forget it
this poem i didn't really write for anyone in specific, its more for all of my friends and all the people i care about and love. its supposed to show that even as time rolls on and who ever we all fall in love with and marry, that I'll always love them, till death do us part...
