Save Us By Letting Me Go

by EpithetPoet   Jul 24, 2005

Your eyes bore into my skull
Trying to find a passion not there
Your hand clenches my thigh
Making me avert my saddened stare

You pull away in utter frustration
Place your hands upon your head
Striking me with your guilty words
"Lauren, was it something I said?"

Pain washes right throughout me
Like a ghost chilling my very soul
Seeing you standing broken before me
I break down as tears start to roll

Your knees buckled under you
Making you meet my cloudy gaze
"Please tell me what i can do..."
Though your words are lost in my daze

"I cant do this anymore" you say
Then once more in a whispered tone
You rise again as if seen a revelation
Make your way steadily to the phone

You come back soon enough
This time with bag in hand
You say it's your time to go
"What am i supposed to do?" i demand

You come over and drop your bag
My lips cracked with encrusted salt
You gently kiss them then walk back
"This is your doing, your own fault"

And with those words you left me
Left your key by my door
And with my pills i left myself
My body lying naked on the floor

*I've never really done a poem like this, in present time. It sounds like a soap more than anything else but oh well heh*

Candidly enough I liked it. It was depressing and had a vivid tale of broken proporitions.

I thought it was pretty good. :) The rhymes weren't forced (natural is always the way to go!), the drama occuring was emotional, and it was thought out very nicely. It gave me an almost lonely feeling...kind of empty because i could see a girl lying across a floor...broken hearted. :( Well I enjoyed reading this very much! Thank you for the comments as well. Take care and keep your talent wherever you go...

    Peaces. //ari\\

P.s.- I think there is a typo in there somewhere...maybe when you put something like "what am i supposed to do", you put "i'm" instead of "am".
