For love

by Bernadette   Jul 24, 2005

I held you hand and said I would make it go away,
I wiped you tears and promised you a better day,
I said I would heal the cuts on your wrists,
I would unclench your tightened fists.

I was sure my love would help you through,
And un-do the pain that was hurting you,
I was sure it would heal and fade away,
But saying I loved you was not enough to say.

I walked in one day to find you there,
Covered in blood like no one cared,
Why was not I enough for you?
Why was not my love enough to pull you through?

Why did you do it when you promised you would stop?
Why did you never want to reach the top?
Because you did not take your life you also took me,
Because a life without you is not worth to be.

So as I cut my wrist again to be with you,
I am saying that I love you true,
So I wiped away my tears and I began to smile,
Cause in a few minutes I will be with you in a while.
