Were you an angel in disguise?
Did you only hide those evil lies?
To protect me from the night,
Did you not do it out of spite?
I guess I couldn't see,
The true reason you left me,

I sat and thought for a while,
And realised behind your cruel smile,
You were an angel protecting me,
I couldn't hear your silent plea,
You knew my weakness was held behind my love,
But now I have to listen to a mourning dove
You were only trying to keep me safe,
I was only trying to be strong and brave,
But now its your love I crave,
I used to believe in serenity,
Behind that hiden identity,
But now I know my dreams weren't real,
Because the truth we both concealed,
So I know that we will never be,
In a place where together we're free.
