Girl in the streets of London.

by Samantha Jayneee   Jul 25, 2005

Running down the streets of London,
Many years ago,
Was a young girl,
No older than fifteen.
She had tears streaming from her eyes
And blood gushing from her arms
Which was being soaked up by the
poor,
dirty,
ripped clothes that she was wearing.
Life was hard for her and
She could not take it any more.
Slowly she stopped running and
Did what many would never dream of...

Asked for help.

"Excuse me, Madam, please slow down,"
Is what she first did say
"Look at me.
Please stop and help.
My life gets harder everyday."

"You vermin of the street -
I have problems of my own.
Go and find someone who cares,
Flee back to that disgrace that you call home."

"Pardon me, Miss, this wont take long,"
She wept to another passer by,
"Help me.
Please.
I'm begging you,"
As more she began to cry.

"Get away you filthy girl,
Help you?
I will not.
Go and BUY some special help
With the little money you have got."

Her sleeves and arms were crimson,
A sight for people to see -
"You dirt!"
"You filth!"
"You tragic let down!"

"Someone...
Please help me..."

"Please excuse me Master,
Have you any money you could spare?"
Then turning her back, under her breath
She whispered,
"It's not even like you care."

"The cheek you stupid little b i tch,
Give my money to you?
You deserve to die to die, not to be helped,
Look at the stupid stuff you do."

And through clouded eyes she glanced down,
At her bloody cut up arm,
"I never meant it to get this bad,
Least to cause alarm."

About to give up all her hope,
One last try she gave;
One last man she asked for help
Before heading to her grave.

"Sir.
Please.
Don't be alarmed.
Stop.
Please help me.
For I have no friends,
No love,
And I have no family."
"I cant do this on my own,
Your help is what I need,"
Then to the floor she broke down,
"So unto you I plead."

This one man ignored her,
Did not even bother to reply.
He merely spat in her face
Then quickly walked on by.

How could this world be so cruel?
The girl came in search of help
Only to have it all thrown back
In her face.
Why would no-one help her?

They judged.

After months of being alone
She decided she couldn't make everything better.
She realised that even the strongest looking become weak sometimes;
Even the most unsuspected need help.

Even she couldn't make it by herself.

Everyone needs help sometimes.
