Look a little deeper

by paula   Nov 7, 2003

Behind the walls of a brightened smile,
an opening arm,
and words of delight,
a friendship so warm,
and a cheerful laugh
theres alot of harm,
and a person walking down a lonely path

beneath these eyes tears are hidden,
inside i cry,
words forbidden,
underneath this smile,
is alot denied

im thought to b the perfect one,
a person thats wanted as a friend by everyone,
people ask what it takes to be me,
i smile or giggle and laugh with glee,

but it really hurts to fool myself,
to make the world think the opposite,
people wish to be in my shoes,
never knowing how much they'd lose.

never looking close enough,
at the scars that r covered,
at a life thats rough,

will u look past my smile,
or my welcoming face,
will u just take a while,
and put urself in my place,
willl u look deeper inside,
at whats longing to be,
will u look past my pride,
look deeper and see me.
