The Road To darkness

I am driving down a road,
at a steady pace.
All the world going by me,
blurring past my face.
Then I come to a stop,
only two places to go.
The left one or the right one,
how should I know?
I look down the left,
figure out what I see.
It looks like it's real smooth,
and easy to me.
Then I look to the right,
all bumps and tears.
I say to myself,
I don't wanna go there.
So as always,
I take the easy way out.
Not at all a pinch,
of worry or doubt.
I'm going down the road,
happy as can be.
No idea at all,
what's in store for me.
Suddenly out of nowhere,
it gets very dark.
And I feel this evil spirit,
from deep within my heart.
Instantly I hear screaming,
so loud it hurts my ears.
I wish I could stop,
but I can't I fear.
These things I can't explain,
are pulling me down.
I'm falling, falling,
there is no ground.
Fire, red and burning,
all over this dark hole.
There isn't a single,
pause or lull.
A horrible laugh,
it's coming from everywhere.
It's so scary here,
down in this dark lair.
Now we have you,
They scream and shout.
I'm thinking to myself,
what's this all about?
Is there something,
important that I should know?
This isn't the place,
I was supposed to go.
They said you belong here,
you're one of us now.
I said I don't understand,
why and how?
You don't believe in,
the one we shall not name.
And now since you took this road,
you shall live in eternal pain.
