If Only

If only I could hear and
listen to all sounds,

If only I could feel
what's happening around,

If only I could taste
the tears, blood and sweat,

If only I could see through
the soul of everyone.

Then, my sensitivity to
others needs would be more pronounced,

Then, i don't have to cry
when misunderstood by some,

Then, I could be more trusting
in giving others a chance,

Then, I could be more forgiving
of others' shortcomings..

Then, I could be myself and
and let go of all pretenses..

Then the world i live in
could be a better place.
