On this cold night

by Patrik   Jul 26, 2005

Sitting by the ocean on this cold night,
Watching the mist grow to fog,
Thinking about the life I've lived so far,
Have I been living in heroism,
Or have I been living in idiotism?

Watching the ocean on this cold night,
Is there a way to survive this life without a fight?
Will I find redemption before my time is up,
Or will I be cast to the abyss filled with sin and sorrow?

Looking over the ocean on this cold night,
Have I lived my life righteously,
Or have I thought too many dark thoughts?
Tears come from time to time,
But I've been blessed with the ability to smile.

As I leave the ocean on this cold night,
I begin to realize I won't make it out alive,
Life always ends with death,
So why do we spend our life's feeling suppressed?

Looking back at the ocean on this cold night,
I notice that I can't help to smile,
But even though I smile,
I feel a melancholy feeling deep in side,
I've been blessed and cursed both at the same time.
