Garden of the past

by Patrik   Jul 26, 2005

As I walk through this garden of the past,
Memories of better times begin to flash,
I can remember the smiles we once had,
What we thought was love was only a rush.

As I reminisce about what once was,
I can remember when we first met,
I began to smile as you began to blush.

I take a few more steps only to realize,
As the tears have been falling I've been watched,
Further in to the garden behind a tree,
I see your blue eyes watching me.

Slowly I begin to walk your way,
Only to notice you looking away,
Are you here to give me love or cause me pain?

As I get closer I understand that you're in pain,
Your cheeks are wet from what seems to be tears,
My body begins to be ripped apart in fear,
Now we're only standing here in silence.

I wish I could help and take you in my care,
But the past left it's marks and we're both in tears,
To avoid more pain I simply walked away.
