Left in the dark

Falling into the depths
of my future, present & past
drowning in the pools of deception
the cold feeling to rejection is here at last
my thoughts are drenched in the blood
of the broken heart within
my emotions hide beneath what's left
of the patience that steadily grows thin
as i am left out in the dark
shadowed pit of loneliness
wonders forever cast out of my corrupted mind
following heart-breaking comments like "only if..."
any anticipation grows to a longing
that haunts every word that escapes my mouth
and any hidden messages
are left unsaid before the frustration builds to a silent shout
