The Others

by tinkerbell   Jul 27, 2005

Afraid to face life
and what it's about
they approach the world
so full of dought
It's hard to be happy
when things never go your way
hard to speak up
when you have nothing to say
Too different to fit
but too fragile to change
everyday they wake up
it's always the same
they look in the mirror
and hate what they see
it's an image in shackles
that will never be free
If you look in their eyes
you'll see nothing there
it was a long time ago
that they forgot how to care
they walk through the halls
but no longer see
the shadows that they
used to want to be
they wonder home
in a state of monotone
pick up the phone
and listen to the dial tone
alone again
their too tired to cry
they lay their heads down
and close their eyes
awake they lie
in a living nightmare
hoping that God
may finally hear their prayer
Please God
send someone to save our lives
we are the others
who are dieing inside
