The other girl

by ruth   Jul 27, 2005

It's over now.
This time it's my choice.
I can't do this anymore,
please hear my voice.
My heart is now crushed,
the trust has been shattered.
It's time to pick up the pieces
and pretend life matters.
I am leaving now,
I finally realized I've lost the race.
I never thought it would hurt this bad,
to come in second place.

This is such as a sad poem. The title really helped me to understand the poem. I also think the last line was really powerful.

Very good poem. I loved it.

But one thing to remember is.... You are not in second place. He just failed to see the winner and made the wrong bet.
