I know...

by undying blusher   Jul 27, 2005

You both tell me you are sorry, with the same sympathetic looks.
I should maybe say, “thank you”
But I just bite my lip and try to force a (weak) smile
To fool them
To show a response of some sort
Instead of a an emotionless expression
Or, I suppose, one of pain
An expression full of sadness
Along with the winces
I wish it would go away
I know you do too
Maybe even more than I do
The sting, the burn, the freeze, the numb…
Once again, my pain leaks through…
To make visible how I feel
I then hide for you hurt enough already
Worrying, crying, paying, all for me
Still not sure what it is worth…my life...me...

This is the first poem in a long time that honestly made me cry.. Remembering how stupid I was trying to commit suicide and how I looked to other people... Sad thing is, still feel like that. At the begining there seemd to be forced rhyme, that didn't flow in with the rest of the poem. If there was rhyme at the end I didn't notice because it was written so powerfully. Poems like this are oftenly called "cliche" because there's way too many of them, but this one is extremely good.. And like any other, alot better than my stuff -_-
