... for a friend...

You’re losing everything
Without realizing what’s gone
And you’re slipping slowly
You’re just barely holding on

Somehow I feel the pain
That you always feel inside
You may think that I don’t see
But it’s impossible to hide

Situations in our lives
Are just too messed up to say
But there’s nothing we can really do
Things just end up that way

Just stand up straight, chin up high

Listen to me when I say

Suicide is not the answer

How I’m scarred for life
Just because my best friend
Had to pick up that knife

So think about the people
That you will forever scar
Just because you weren’t strong
So you’ll escape to a place so far

Trust, I know how you feel
Because I’m not that strong too
But if we have each other
I know we’ll make it through

It’s just a phase we’re going through
Just give it a little time
Think of all the happy thoughts
Clear your troubled mind

Promise me one thing…
Just don’t do what I do
I just can’t stand to see
Everything I put you through
