Painted Faces

by Laura   Jul 27, 2005

Faces smiling
Laughter flowing
Always trying to hide
The true inside

With painted faces
You won't go far
Always trying to hide
Who you really are
People smiling
Laughter flowing
Insides crying
Moaning, groaning
This is how
Things will always be
Life isn't what you see

Goin to parties
Acting all fine
Outside appearance
Will always shine
But insides scream
Wanting let out
Painted faces
Dare them to shout

When will be the time
When our true selves will shine
When our faces are painted no more?
When will we open the door
To our true self, the person inside,
What are we hiding for?
