Her name was Rosy, a sweet litte girl
She was small and cute with rincklet curls
She was only six and she lived with her mum, they lived in a flat which resembled a slum
Her mum was poor and couldnt buy bread
So the girl went to her mother and gently said
"I want to go and live with my dad\", he`s picking me up
so please dont be sad
The girl went off to her lovely new home
but each night she cried for leaving mum all alone
she was in the hands now of daddys new wife
who told her that she now had a new life
Letters she wrote, many a day
explaining to mum, why she went away
But never they were sent, they were thrown away
because daddy stopped access to mum in every way
One month passed, the girl was sad
daddys wife locked her away and said she was bad
So up in the attic the girl all alone
She cried for her mum and prayed to go home
When daddy came home, the girl ran to him and cried
but daddy locked her in the attic and said she had lied
So alone again, legs bruised from a belt
the girl was so scared, no one knew how she felt
Another week past, she was given more pain, as daddys new wife had beaten her again
So up in the attic, she knew she had to get away
so she got her things together, and planned for the next day
So the very next day, when daddys wife was asleep
She crept down the stairs with her silent little feet
She opened the door, and ran quickly down the street
And when she got so far, she wept with releif
She walked on for miles, but then lost her way, she had nowhere to go and no place to stay
The police picked up on, and contacted her dad
They then took her back, and again she was sad
Another month past, and more hurt the girl felt, days spent locked away and more beats with a belt
She wished for her mum to wipe away her tears, to take her in her arms, and
take away her fears
But then one day sitting all alone, she heared a voice shouting \"im taking Rosy home\"
She screamed with delight, her mum had come to take her away
No more hurt or pain would she feel from that day
So in the arms of her mothers love, the girl simply whispered \"im sorry mum\"
She promised she would never leave her side
and 50 years later ,.... Thats wasnt a lit
[this isnt a slang poem, but it wouldnt let me put it in anything else because ofspelling it didnt reconise]
