When I first saw you the day you came

You came up to me and gave me your name
I gave you mine and there I fell in love
I felt like flying just like a white dove
How could I have fallen in love with you
You just moved in you are barely new
At that time we became good friends
You told me you’d be there in the twists and bends
I thought of you almost day in and day out
I thought of you without fail there’s doubt
What were you thinking when you first saw me
Boyfriend and girlfriend, is that what we’d be?
Well we were for awhile as time went on
But the day you moved you were really gone
Forever I thought I’d see you no more
My heart felt so low, so hopeless so poor
I tried to remember everything you said
But my head hurt so bad I felt brain dead
I can only remember only a couple three words
There wasn’t a sound no singing of birds
We looked into each others eyes
You looked at me and said goodbye
Is that all I thought in my head so sad
Why is this day turning out so bad
You turned back at me and said baby I love you
My eyes weld up with tears as I said love you too
He started to cry as he kissed my cheek
I was scared to look at him even one peek
As he got in the car and shut the door
He rolled down the window and said I love you once more
Baby I said why did you have to go
My heart sank with discouragement it sank very low
Why is my heart, soul, and my life going away
As I sat there and cried “I’ll see him one day”
If I can’t see him here down on this earth
I will see him were I was before birth
There in the heavens were it is perfect and bright
I will see the boy that was always in my sight
I will see him most daily both me and my friends
It will be like before in the twists and the bends
He will be there for me whether I am old or small
Don’t worry I say if I need you I’ll call
He says he will be there if anything goes wrong
He says he’ll be here even if the journey is long
As time goes on we will stick together
I think we will be at least friends forever
