Keep Going

I used to barely get through each day
It was a battle, a fight to live.
Wishing it would end, just to be gone,
To be rid of this place and these people.

I don't know what I was doing,
Slowly killing myself.
How did it get that far?
Why did You let me go so far?

No one paid any attention to me
People didn't know what I was doing,
No idea what was happening, but I did
I knew where I'd end up.

I didn't want to, but I couldn't help it.
With no care, no love from anyone around
I had no courage at all.
Just going through each day, one by one.

Then something in me changed.
I wanted to keep going,
Let's get through, and we'll be okay.
Life can be tough, but only if you make it.
