He just sits there

by Avrii Monrielle   Jul 28, 2005

He just sits there
Strumming the strings of his guitar
She walks to the chair
And listens to him

He plays a love song
She wonders why his heart is so untainted
She hears the words she never did
Herself,she was so alone

His sweet voice as he whispers all the things
How he wanted someone to hold him
When he cried he wanted someone to wipe the tears

She used to sing her own love songs
With the birds and the trees
She used to cry out for a hand to help her up
But no one there except her knees

She whispers to the clouds
Of the one she left behind
And looks in her mind's crevices
But nothing can she find

The love was something lonesome
But they both knew of their pain
Now they just speak softly
Talking to the rain

The beautiful and ugly
Had no meaning to them
If only the world meant something
To those who look within
