One day I saw this girl staring at me,
She looked so sad and lost.
Her hair was a mess of what I could see,
And her eyes blank with exhaust.
Her skin was pale and white,
With lips that had no trace of a smile.
Hair as dark as the moonlight night,
And her expression filled with denial.
On her pale legs held painful scars,
Shaking as a helpless small child would do.
Her ankle had marks from what looked like cigars,
With bare feet that had no shoes.
I wondered what this girl was thinking,
She looked so pitiful as I came nearer.
I lifted my hand to touch her as I started blinking,
For what I was looking at was nothing but a mirror.
