Killing the Devil in You

by Dayne   Jul 29, 2005

Your hands were as cold as ice,
That’s when you’ve rolled your dice,
You trembled at the six-dotted face,
Fear in you is what I’ve traced.

You screamed hysterically that night,
With red eyes and in cold fright,
Your hands are still red and smelled fresh,
But the sight of it slits your flesh.

I see you smoked grass as you perspire,
Cold sweat yet burns like fire,
You stood up lately to get a shower,
To forget what you did at the tower.

And I was there when your sinister’s fixed,
Dragging a girl of age six,
A daughter of your long-time enemy,
To end her life is your remedy.

You screamed out loud with devilish echo,
You’ve beaten the water’s thundering flow,
And I was behind your door when you cried,
Long-forgotten tears, now you’ve tried.

And you stormed out to clasp me tightly,
But your hand gripped my hair painfully,
Your wrath hurled me against the mirror,
My own slits of red began your terror.

But no sign of pain as I stare at you,
And my damaged face made you blue,
I see you cower behind my shadows,
The night to meet your gallows.

Cursed myself for bringing a knife,
Cursed again for taking a loved one’s life,
Prying devils is my real game,
Killing you would rather be the same.

It was the night of your last scream,
It was the night of requiem’s hymn,
I left your place of shadow murder,
From now we’ll meet no longer.
