The Illusion of Time

by Brenda   Jul 29, 2005

Time and its great illusion
leads me to confusion
As I walk my morning walk
the trees I pass by
are the same as last time
Nothing has changed
I walk my same path
the grass so worn I can see my tracks
The steps of yesterday
become those of today
and will become the ones of tomorrow
a never ending sorrow
I am trapped in my tracks
the tracks that once lead me
now entrap me
The illusion of time
tells me its time
but the sorrow inside tells me not quite
I use to find comfort in my tracks
but now I feel like I am actully taking a step back
Will I ever leave the tracks of yesterday
when will it be the day
when I leave the path I have created
The illusion of time
says I shouldn’t be here
or no where near
but I still remain
forever in dismay

great poem, one could see this illusion of time as a downfall towards man. Many cultures use the implentation of space instead of time. This poem was well written and I underttand the message at the end. Thanks for the great read.
