Prisoner of Paradox

by Kelly L   Jul 29, 2005

I woke up in my dream
To see with closed eyes.
Pursed my lips to scream
As I saw through the disguise.
Got up out of bed
Fell face-first on the wall.
Grabbed my sides in pain
But it didn't hurt at all.
I sat there alone
You sat a few feet away
Smiling on your throne
Your seat of disarray.
You spoke to me softly
As your words beat my ears
We disagree to agree
The arguments no one hears.
The chains are still intact
As I run out from my cell.
Every step makes a crack
As I stand where I fell.
Your voice echoes the chamber
As I'm back where I began.
Everything was as it were
Down to my failing plan.
I bang my head on empty space
I can't believe my nerve.
Wrap my arms in a lonely embrace
Was this what I deserved?
I know I made a mistake
I opened Pandora's box.
I set loose your rampant land,
Your land of paradox.
