The True Light of Inner Bliss

I realize now,
He was there from the start,
Watching and waiting,
For me to release my heart.

He first began to whisper,
But I was headlong,
Even to the day,
I was no longer strong.

But during my downfall,
He began to speak,
I only listened,
Though my life still bleak.

Soon I decided,
Maybe I should learn more,
This could be the inner bliss,
I have wished for.

As time passed by,
He was calling,
But I was still broken,
And still falling.

I wanted to believe,
But something inside me couldn't,
I wanted to be free,
But something said I shouldn't.

I was confused,
Over years love has been torn from my mind,
It was hard to think,
Hope was possible to find.

Then one Thursday you basically told me,
God is the only one to heal,
And when your lost and numb,
He'll make you feel.

That night,
I was set free,
God came through you,
And now I finally see.

He's been there,
Wondering when I'll choose his ways,
Of truth and love,
Forever and always.

So now I thank both God and you,
From saving me from my fight,
For opening my eyes,
And showing me the true light.

I wrote this to thank a kid named Jon who showed me that the only person who can heal these cuts on my wrist is God.
