Brave Soldiers

by xX Toxic Cure Xx   Jul 30, 2005

They faced each other from different sides
Not wanting to be here, but buried in pride
Holding tight to the guns pressed to their chest
Trying not to fall like all the rest
Hate burned in their eyes as they saw the enemy
They didn't remember why, just that he isn't like me
Two brave soldiers caught up in their own beliefs
Never to realize they were nothing more than thieves
Each one of them took something precious from another
They took their son, their husband, their father
One of the boys left his family with a kiss
But his little brother is who he really missed
His brother always looked up to him
Even when life had become so dim
His opponent left after they killed his mother and father
Chasing out into the war just like his brother
Now the two boys stared at each other with hateful glares
Neither moved, neither dares
Then a shot rang out between the two
And part of the older boys chest flew
He fell on his back down into the mud
The other rushed tords him at the thud
He ran as if he had something to prove
But then he saw the mans face and didn't move
He looked down at him in disbelief
And suddenly was filled with grief
For on the ground lay his dying older brother
Now hes lost everything, like his father and mother
He dropped his gun as he started gasping for air
And knelt down to his brother trying to keep him aware
The twos eyes locked, and the dying man said
Brother, you cant win a war unless the enemy's dead
