Self Centered

by SunShine   Nov 9, 2003

I know I am wrong
I know I am pitiful
I sit here thinking
Of me and only me
While you’re out there
Falling further from my arms

You don’t like my conceit
You don’t like my arrogance
You don’t want someone like me

I’ve got a side-splitting pain
I’ve got a letter in my hands
The words fall out so gracefully
It’s to me and only me
And you’re out there somewhere
Looking for something to help you escape

You don’t like how I’m self-absorbed
You don’t like how I’m egotistical
You don’t want someone like me

I know I am delusional
I know I can be cruel
I figure out ways to complicate this
For me and only me
While you’re out there again
Searching for something more exciting

You don’t like it when I’m narcissistic
You don’t like it when I’m self-centred
You don’t want someone like me

Yet you’re out there…
Falling further from my arms
Looking for something to help you escape
Searching for something more exciting
Hoping for something new
Something for YOURSELF.
