Why?

Why is it that we go to sleep each night,
only to wake in the morning,

why is it we laugh,
when it will only fade to sadness in
the end,

why do we love,
when we will only get hurt,

why do we have friends,
when they will only become enemies,

why do we live,
only to await death,

Why do people look upon suicide as weak and wrong,
when it is simply the inevitable, sooner.

Why don't we all just end it,
make it easier for ourselves,

why don't we just end it,
is it fear or love that stops us?
